Virtual Reiki Sessions
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing practice that supports balance, relaxation, and well-being. Reiki is a Japanese practice that was developed in early 20th-century Japan by Mikao Usui and is based on the understanding that in addition to our physical and emotional makeup, our bodies also have an energy field. Just as our physical or mental health can be impacted—by stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, etc.—so can our energy. When this happens, we may feel stuck, ungrounded, or disconnected from ourselves. Reiki helps restore balance and wellbeing to this energy, helping the body and mind to return to a state of harmony.
How Reiki Works
During a Reiki session, the practitioner acts as a channel for universal life energy, directing it with intention to support your unique needs. This is not about pushing or forcing change—it’s about creating space for your system to naturally release tension and reconnect with its innate capacity to heal. Many people describe the experience as deeply calming, restorative, and even transformative.
What to Expect in a Virtual Reiki Session
I currently offer Reiki services virtually, which means you can receive a session from the comfort of your own home, no matter where you’re located in the United States. Before the session begins, we’ll connect briefly to set an intention and talk through any areas you’d like to focus on. You’ll then find a comfortable, quiet place to relax, while I guide the energy healing process remotely.
Sessions often include:
A brief check-in and intention-setting
Guided relaxation and meditation to help you settle into the session
Distance Reiki, where I direct healing energy to you virtually
Gentle closing reflections and space to integrate your experience
Every session unfolds differently, and you may feel warmth, tingling, deep relaxation, emotional release, or simply a sense of peace.
Reiki & Therapy: How They’re Different; How They Complement Each Other
In addition to being a Level 2 Reiki practitioner, I am also a licensed marriage and family therapist. While Reiki and therapy are different practices, I have found that they complement each other well. Reiki is not therapy and does not replace mental health treatment. Many clients find it supportive alongside therapy and other healing modalities. Reiki can help create the calm and openness needed to deepen other personal growth and healing work.
